Valves

Replacement and upgrade valves for IBC tanks. The valve is the primary dispensing mechanism and one of the most commonly replaced parts on an IBC container. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which valve size my IBC tank uses?

Most standard HDPE composite IBC tanks use a 2-inch (DN50) butterfly valve. Some larger tanks, particularly 330-gallon models, may use a 3-inch (DN80) valve. You can measure the outer diameter of your existing valve outlet or check the manufacturer markings on the tank. If you are unsure, contact us with your tank model and we can identify the correct valve size.

What gasket material should I choose?

For general-purpose and food-grade applications, EPDM is the standard choice -- it is chemical-resistant, food-safe, and cost-effective. For aggressive chemicals, solvents, or high-temperature applications (above 200F), choose Viton (FKM). For ultra-pure or highly corrosive environments, PTFE is the best option as it is compatible with virtually all chemicals.

Do heating blankets work with all IBC sizes?

Our full-wrap heating blankets are designed for standard 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBCs. Base heater pads work with any pallet size. If you have a non-standard IBC or need a specific size, contact us and we can source the right heating solution for your tank.

Can I use an IBC liner to avoid cleaning the tank between products?

Yes, that is one of the primary benefits of IBC liners. A disposable liner creates a barrier between your product and the tank wall, allowing you to switch between different products without cleaning the tank itself. This saves time, reduces water usage, and eliminates the risk of cross-contamination.

Are spill containment pallets required by law?

For chemical storage, yes. EPA regulations (40 CFR 264.175) and OSHA standards require secondary containment for hazardous liquids. Local fire codes may have additional requirements. Even for non-hazardous liquids, containment pallets are a best practice for spill prevention and environmental protection.
